As we look to the coming year, we aim to broaden our impact by expanding our reach and serving more girls who thrive in a sisterhood environment that inspires them to be healthy, educated and independent. Through sisterhood, girls find strength in solidarity, mentorship, and mutual understanding, enabling them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. By harnessing the power of sisterhood, we can create a more inclusive, compassionate, and equitable world for all. A gift to our 2024 Annual Appeal campaign will bring life-changing experiences that nurture the unique and special bonds that grow in our diverse and inclusive pro-girl environment.

MEET MIA!
Meet Mia, a 10-year old member of Girls Inc. In 3 years of membership she has discovered she is a natural leader who is capable of forging her own path in life. With each new opportunity, Mia has gained the skills and confidence to know she has good ideas, values the opinions of others and she speaks from the heart. As an only child, being raised by a single mother, Mia leaned into our mission and rediscovered the value of sisterhood after the death of her father. Mia admits that if he were here, he probably wouldn’t know what to do or make the best choices but from Heaven, he can impact her life and inspire her. If you ask Mia what makes her strong, she will tell you, “My dad, he passed away and I want to make him proud.” Because of this, Mia not only understands that she will experience life differently than other girls, but that she now thrives surrounded by a sisterhood where she feels supported, heard and uplifted.
With your help, we will follow Mia’s lead and continue to offer opportunities for local girls to grow through peer connections, while also exploring their strengths. Through our after-school, summer and vacation programs, Mia has learned to lead, uplift others and has thrived as a member of our sisterhood. Despite whatever challenges they are facing in life, we will provide girls like Mia the space to discover what a sisterhood means to them and what makes each of them strong, smart and bold.
